Our Values

On our ranch, we strongly believe that if we take care of the land, the land will take care of the animals. We use our animals as land management tools, rotating our animals around our pastures to fertilize, aerate and harvest the bountiful forages.

By moving our flock from pasture to pasture, and providing adequate rest for the forages, we are able to maximize the productivity of our land. This in return, provides a high level of nutrition for our animals. By leaving sufficient time before returning to the same pastures to graze, we are able to break disease and worm cycles, keeping our flock healthy without the use of antibiotics and minimizing the use of dewormers.

We do not use any pesticides or chemical fertilizers on our land. We use our flocks’ natural grazing ability to control weed issues. By keeping our flock in small pastures and moving them frequently, they distribute manure evenly over the pasture. By minimizing the use of dewormers, our natural eco-system is thriving with birds and bugs that help breakdown the manure, providing natural fertilizer and organic matter back to our soil.

Diversity is the spice of life. On our ranch, you will discover a wide range of plants and animal species. While our sheep may be our primary enterprise, you will find everything from cattle, horses, pigs and chickens, all raised outdoors, here. The same thing can be said about our pastures as you will find a wide variety of grasses and legumes. All animal and plant species serve a different purpose but work together to create a vibrant, healthy eco-system.

We also believe that a healthy eco-system includes a thriving wildlife population. All of our treed and marshy areas are fenced off, maintaining these areas just for the wildlife. The hair that falls off our sheep makes wonderful nests, encouraging an expanding bird population.

At the end of the day, all of these elements work together to produce some of the highest quality lamb you will ever taste. And that’s pasture perfect, naturally.
